School of Environment and Natural Resources

(1) M.Sc (2 years) Environmental Studies (20 seats)

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any branch of Basic or Applied Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or B.E./B.Tech in Environmental Sciences with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST) recognized by Doon University or a Degree considered equivalent would be eligible for admission to the Program.

School of Communication: M.A. (2 years) Communication (40 seats)

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST) recognized by Doon University or a Degree considered equivalent would be eligible for admission to the Program

Selection Procedure: Selection to all Programs will be based on Entrance Test consisting of one paper, (two sections of 3 hrs duration) with multiple choice/short descriptive questions.

Date of Entrance Test for Admission: 19th July 2009 in Dehradun

Reservation: Of the total seats in each program, 50 percent of the seats shall be reserved for students from Uttarakhand, for details see prospectus.

M.Sc (Chemistry) Programme (on campus, full time)

Indira Gandhi National Open University has initiated imparting of education through Face to Face Mode by offering Post Graduate programme – Master of Science (Chemistry) from July, 2009 session. Number of seats are 20 and teaching will be imparted on campus by a team of eminent faculty from the Discipline of Chemistry, School of Sciences and visiting professors from premier national and international establishments. There will be a few P.G. merit scholarships for consistency outstanding students.

Eligibility

(i) B.Sc (3 years) degree after 10+2 with Major/Honour in Chemistry (or) B.Sc. General/Pass degree with Chemistry as one of the three main subjects with equal weightage

(ii) At least 50% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade for general candidates and 45% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade for SC/ST candidates

(iii) Students who have appeared the final qualifying examination can also apply.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test which will be held on 21st June, 2009

Venue of Entrance Test: The test will be conducted at New Delhi only. No TA would be paid to the candidates.
