Admission to M.A. in Social Work for 2009-2011

The department of social work, University of Delhi announces admission to M.A. in Social work for the academic session 2009-2011. The Department of Social Work is one of the oldest and premier institutions in India offering a two year post graduate degree in social work. This post-graduate course is primarily designed for those who seek opportunities in the field of social welfare and development practice.

Eligibility: The minimum eligibility for admission to the course is 50 percent marks in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination (10+2+3). Five percent relaxation shall be provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories. Candidates awaiting their final year examination result can also apply.

Selection Procedure: Those satisfying eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through a two stage process involving: (a) Written Test and (b) Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The admission test will be held on 29th June, 2009 at Delhi. The new academic session shall commence from July 17, 2009

Admission Bulletin along with application forms shall be available from 20th May, 2009 and may be obtained from the department of social work against a cash payment of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates) at Department counter or by post or by downloading the form from website: www.du.ac.in along with a DD of Rs. 450/- (Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi, payable at Delhi.

Last date for receipt of completed applications at the Department by hand or by post is June 25th, 2009.

Delhi Institute of Heritage Research & Management (DIHRM), established by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, is a unique institution in India devoted to study, conserve and preserve the heritage. Archaeological monuments, arts and crafts, oral and written literature, living traditions, natural features and environment are all part of our heritage. Collectively, it is the past that we have a responsibility to safeguard for the future. Our solemn responsibility is to respect, cherish and preserve it.

The Institute aims at training professionals who could study, view, conserve and preserve the Heritage holistically. To achieve this goal, DIHRM conducts Master’s Courses in Heritage Management.

Applications are invited for the admission to the following courses

Duration of course: Two years

Eligibility:
Graduate (3 years degree course) in any subject of Humanities or Sciences (Those appearing in III year final exam can also apply)

Number of Seats: 30 in each course

Last date for sale and submission of completed application: 10th July, 2009

Date of entrance test: 17th July, 2009

Reservation of seats in admission shall be in accordance with the Rules of GGS Indraprastha University as detailed in our prospectus for various categories and 3% for persons with disabilities.

The prescribed application forms specifying the course applied (with the information brochure containing details of eligibility, schedule of test, prescribed courses, etc.) can be had from the Accountant of the Institute on payment of Rs. 150/- in cash or Rs. 175/- in form of DD in favour of ‘Delhi Institute of Heritage Research & Management’ to be sent by post to ‘DIHRM’ payable on any nationalized bank at Delhi. The form can also be downloaded from our web site www.dihrm.com. Downloaded forms will be accepted only if it is accompanied with demand draft of Rs. 400/-.
