ADMISSION NOTICE

Applications are invited for admission to the 2008 batch of the following three courses of this Training Centre starting on 1st September, 2008.

1. 3 Year Diploma in Instrument Technology
2. 4 Year Advanced Diploma in Die & Mould Making
3. 4 Year Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics & Industrial Automation
Selection for the courses at Sr. No. 2 & 3 above is decided after two years of common training in Instrument Technology. All these courses are approved by AICTE. The pass outs of this Centre are normally absorbed by industry through campus interviews.

Admission is open to BOTH BOYS & GIRLS. Hostel facility is available.

NUMBER OF SEATS: Total 70 seats. For General: 54 seats.(11 reserved for SC and 5 for ST candidates) 2 seats reserved for Physically challenged candidates (with disability in one leg or one arm and partially deaf) out of total seats.

ELIGIBILITY: Passed 10th or equivalent ten years of recognised study (or any other recognised higher examination with Mathematics and Science subjects) securing minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST). For wards of Kashmiri migrants 10% relaxation will be given. Those who have appeared in the qualifying examination this year are also eligible to apply.

AGE: Those born after 1st September(1st September, 1986 for SC/ST candidates), are eligible to apply.

HOW TO APPLY:
Application form with prospectus may be obtained from the office of the Principal ISTC on payment of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST) (examination fee included) on any working day between 9.30 A.M. and 12.30 P.M. from 15th May, 2008 to 20th June, 2008 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays). If required by mail send a demand draft for the same amount issued on or after 15.05.2008, drawn on State Bank of India, Sector 30, Chandigarh (Code 1443) in favour of Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh, along with a self addressed slip of size 18cm X 8cm. Postage stamp for Rs.60/- is to be affixed on top right corner of the slip. Such a request should reach the office of the Principal by 12th June, 2008.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Receipt of filled Application forms: 15.05.2008 to 20-06-2008 9.30 am to 12.45 P.M.
Last Date for filled in application forms: 23-06-2008 (last day only) 9.30 am to 5 pm.

The CSIO ISTC Entrance Test will be held on Sunday, 10th August, 2008 at Chandigarh.
