Admission Announcement – 2009-2010

Applications for admission are invited for the following Programs from eligible candidates with qualifications as prescribed against each program.

School of Environment and Natural Resources

I. M.Sc (2 years) Environmental Studies (20 seats)

II. M.Sc. (2 years) Natural Resource Management (20 seats)

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any branch of Basic or Applied Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or Agriculture of B.E./B.Tech in Environmental Sciences with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) recognized by Doon University or a Degree considered equivalent would be eligible for admission to the program.

School of Communication: M.A. (2 years) Communication (40 seats)

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45 percent for SC/ST) recognized by Doon University or a Degree considered equivalent would be eligible for admission to the Program.

Selection Procedure: Selection to all Programs will be based on Entrance Test consisting of one paper (two sections of 3 hours duration) with multiple choice/short descriptive questions.

Date of entrance test for admission: 19th July 2009 in Dehradun

Reservation: Of the total seats in each program, 50% of the seats shall be reserved for students from Uttarakhand for details see prospectus.

How to apply: Prospectus and application form can be obtained: (i) by post by submitting a Bank Draft for Rs. 650/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of ‘Doon University’, payable at Dehradun (ii) from the University admission office, on cash payment of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates) (iii) from PNB-Dehradun (Astley Hall), Pant Nagar, Srinagar, Almora, Nainital, Haldwani (iv) by downloading from the website http://gov.ua.nic.in/DoonUniversity & submitted along with the applicable fee.

Last date for issue of application forms from university admission office: 22nd June, 2009

Last date for receipt of completed application forms at the University office: 22nd June, 2009
