The Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur has been set up in 1999 by government of Rajasthan as an autonomous institute of excellence with a national mandate to act as a catalyst in the craft sector. Since October 2007, it is managed and funded by Ambuja educational institute in public private partnership.
Education programmes at IICD
4 years under graduate diploma in craft design
1. Fired material application: terracotta, ceramics
2. Hard material application: wood, metals, stone
3. Soft material application: fibres, fabrics, paper, leather
Eligibility: Clearance in 12th board by 30 June, 2010
2.5 years post graduate diploma in craft design
Furniture and Interior products
Home textiles: Floor coverings and furnishings
1.5 years post graduate diploma in
Craft management and entrepreneurship
1 year international programme in
Craft research and development
Eligibility: Degree in any discipline such as Arts, Commerce, Science from a recognized university.
Degree/diploma in fine arts, design, architecture, clothing and textiles
Artisans’ wards having completed higher secondary and having 5 years experience in traditional crafts.

Availability of application form: 12th December, 2009
Last date of submission of form: 30th April, 2010
The application form with the prospectus is available on payment of Rs. 750/- either in cash or through demand draft in favour of Indian Institute of crafts and design, payable at Jaipur.
