M.Sc (Chemistry) Programme (on campus, full time)
Indira Gandhi National Open University has initiated imparting of education through Face to Face Mode by offering Post Graduate programme – Master of Science (Chemistry) from July, 2009 session. Number of seats are 20 and teaching will be imparted on campus by a team of eminent faculty from the Discipline of Chemistry, School of Sciences and visiting professors from premier national and international establishments. There will be a few P.G. merit scholarships for consistency outstanding students.
Eligibility
(i) B.Sc (3 years) degree after 10+2 with Major/Honour in Chemistry (or) B.Sc. General/Pass degree with Chemistry as one of the three main subjects with equal weightage
(ii) At least 50% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade for general candidates and 45% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade for SC/ST candidates
(iii) Students who have appeared the final qualifying examination can also apply.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test which will be held on 21st June, 2009
Venue of Entrance Test: The test will be conducted at New Delhi only. No TA would be paid to the candidates.

Availability of Application form/prospectus
Purchase facility: The student handbook & prospectus can be obtained in person from the Office of the Director, School of Science, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 on payment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) from 20th May, 2009
By post: The student handbook & prospectus can also be obtained by post from Director, School of Sciences, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 by sending a DD of Rs. 550/- in favour of IGNOU and payable at New Delhi. Prospectus/student handbook & prospectus will be sent to such applicant after receipt of Rs. 550/- as explained above.
Download: The application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the university website www.ignou.ac.in and sent along with a DD/IPO for Rs. 550/- in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi by Registered/Speed Post to – Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, Prospectus/Student handbook & Prospectus will be sent to such applicants after receipt of Rs. 550/- as explained above.
Last date of submission of application: Filled in form for entrance test must reach the Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068, by Registered Post/Speed Post on or before 05th June, 2009
