Admission Announcement 2009-10

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), a research-led teaching University, is established by Act of Gujarat State Legislature. The School of Petroleum Technology under PDPU offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D programmes in Petroleum Engineering. The School brings world class education and teaching methodology to classroom by having highly qualified faculty supported by state-of-art infrastructure and industry support.

B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering

Eligibility: (a) Candidates should have a minimum academic qualification of 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

(b) should appear in AIEEE 2009 examination being conducted by CBSE on 26th April, 2009

(c) submit a separate application to School of Petroleum Technology in the prescribed application form

How to apply: Candidates will have to apply in the prescribed application form of school of Petroleum Technology. The application form will be made available at the selected branches of Axis Bank (Formerly UTI Bank) as given below, by paying Rs. 1000/- or by

Sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of “Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University” payable at Ahmedabad.

Selection Process: The candidates will be short listed on the basis of their AIEEE 2009 Rank. They will be called for counseling and will be offered admission in order of their merit (based on the AIEEE-2009 All India Ranking)

Scholarships: Eligible students will be awarded (i) Merit Scholarships (ii) Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (iii) Fee Waivers (iv) Special Scholarships

For the academic year 2009, the total number of seats for B.Tech students is 240, of which 120 seats would be for candidates from Gujarat and balance 120 seats for candidates from rest of India. The B.Tech course is approved by AICTE.
