State Level Talent Search Examination Punjab, 2010-11 (for 8th class)

State institute of Science Education, Punjab, Chandigarh shall be conducting the state level talent search examination for the year 2010-11 on 21.11.2010 to select 81 students from class 8th

National Level Examination will be conducted by NCERT, New Delhi in May 2011 .

Students studying in 8th class in State Govt., Kendriya Vidyalyas, Navodaya Vidyalayas or any other type of recognized/affiliated schools, situated in Punjab securing minimum 70% marks for general category and 55% marks for SC/ST/Physically challenged students in 7th class annual examination are eligible

The medium of examination shall be Punjabi/English

Duration of examination will be of three hours

There will be one question paper consisting of two parts (i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for 90 marks each. Under SAT there are seven subjects; Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, History, Geography, Civics

Admission forms: Admission forms can be downloaded from the website www.ssapunjab.org. The admission forms duly filled in and complete in all respects should reach the Principal of the school centre) as given in the admission form by 31.08.2010 where examination centre in the concerned District is situated. No forms/request will be entertained at the state institute of science education, Punjab, Chandigarh

Reservation: As per National Reservation norms there will be 15% reservation for SC, 7.5% ST and 3% reservation for Physically challenged Group of candidates i.e. 1% for each group namely hearing, physically and visually challenged group of students irrespective of caste category (general, SC, ST)

It is necessary for the candidate belonging to SC/ST category to attach the attested copy of the certificate regarding reserved caste issued by SDM/Tehsildar with the admission form

There will be candidates belonging to physically challenged group of children must attach the attested copy of certificate issued by the competent authority stating that the child suffer from the 40% or more as per the P.W.D. Act, 1995 disability and that the disability is of permanent/temporary nature. The candidate will be considered in general category if the above mentioned certificate does not reach up till 31.08.2010 attached with the admission form

No admission fee is charged for this examination
